About Lyon Fine Jewelry

Lauren Bedford Russell

Jewelry has the power to transform a moment, a mood, a life.

This is the design philosophy that Los Angeles based designer Lauren Bedford Russell follows in creating her fine jewelry collection, Lyon Fine Jewelry. The collection is predominantly comprised of Black Rhodium Sterling Silver and Gold, arguably the sexiest precious metals, and paired with black and white Diamonds. Russell takes pride in using only conflict-free gemstones and is committed to “Made in America,” with all of her jewelry crafted in New York City.

The collection was launched in 2011 using a beloved family name “Lyon.” The name, an iconic symbol of strength, is perfectly apropos for a group of designs that each command attention, empower the wearer and make onlookers envious. The chain is a key concept throughout the collection, appearing in varying sizes and styles. Key pieces include chain link tassel earrings, an elongated knuckle ring as well as leather bracelets each with meaningful symbols. The designer is committed to doing good through good-looking jewelry. In fact, there are four charity bracelets which give back including; the equality bracelet (proceeds benefit the human rights foundation), the eternity bracelet (benefiting the American society for the prevention of cruelty to animals) as well as a rock the vote bracelet (benefiting rock the vote).

The designer recently added a “positivity” bracelet with 15 percent of the proceeds donated to the National Multiple Sclerosis society (www.Nationalmssociety.Org). Russell's commitment to philanthropic work has grown exponentially since her Multiple Sclerosis diagnosis in 2012. "By publicly coming out about my recent MS diagnosis and becoming a fervent spokesperson for Multiple Sclerosis, I hope to turn my personal fight into public awareness to educate people about the warning signs, raise funds for more research and inspire positive change towards the disease," says Russell.

Lyon fine jewelry is unisex and can be worn confidently without judgment, she hopes, by either sex. Russell has gained attention as one of the stars of showtime's The real L word, which followed a group of lesbians as they navigated relationships on both coasts. The show has become a platform to shed light on her sexual orientation, life as a young business owner, and work as a budding and passionate jewelry designer.
